WTKK HD2

Has this HD sidechannel ever done well? Was there any buzz about it when it first came out & are there any shows on it? I'm curious because this seems to be the only HD sidechannel to not be put on as an afterthought (like an AM simulcast or national feed like Pride Radio or the psychic channel on one of the HD4s). I'm also curious if it continues after 10 this morning (can't see why it wouldn't).

It probably continues. Those few with an HD radio can check out Irish 96.9 or go to
http://www.969irish.com
Also on Tune In etc. for your smartphone or computer (click Local stations then scroll down)

For some reason on that site a bunch of Chinese characters/letters on the right!
>>SAMPLE HOUR: Danny Boy – John McDermott, Wild Rover – The Clancy Brothers, Into the Mystic – Van Morrison, Beautiful Day - U2, Kerry Slides – The Chieftains, Home to Donegal – Daniel O’Donnell

I wouldn't call "Radio Mojo" or "WBCN Free Form Rock" afterthoughts. Quite a bit of effort goes in to locally programming the playlists on both of them and they are both still adding new material all the time, plus "WBCN Free Form Rock" has live hosts for at least a few hours most weekdays and occasionally does remote broadcasts around town.

There are a number of other locally programmed HD subchannels in the area, but I will agree that some of them seem to have been programmed with "set it and forget it" playlists that have not changed in years.

Some of the big companies ran ads for "HD radio with all the hidden stations" and some
even promoted, on air, their HDs--I know WKLB did with "classic country" though I heard
that changed to more contemp. country I guess. As for WROR I did listen to one hour of
the main signal a couple weeks ago and it was very safe 70s music. Nothing But the 70s
may have thrown in an obscure track or two but based on listening to that one hour
of the main signal I thought, in some ways they already have an all 70s station, on the main
freq!

I have to put up an antenna. All I can get in Middleborough (with rabbit ears) are the Providence FM HD signals. I had forgotten about WBCN Freeform & R. Mojo. I forget what else is out there. 92.9, I think, has the local band sidechannel right? The Irish format stuck out tho because it seems like a fit for Boston & figured if any sidechannel was getting any ears it might be that.
