WTLY-FM Magic 107.1 Tallahassee maybe flip

I have been lurking in this forum for a long time and I had to register when I heard My 107.1 for the first time. I guess it was time for CC to truly compete against WBZE. I am liking what I heard so far (an improvement over MAGIC, IMHO) but it does sound like Star98 to me. I also noticed the new call leters on my Zune HD (WGMY???? I suppose WTMY was taken ::)) I don't normally listen to the radio to notice Delilah, but even I have to agree that she will not mesh well with this format. If she is yanked off CC, where will she go? WBZE??? I know in Atlanta, when WLTM flipped to country (WUBL), Delilah was yanked. She was carried on a smaller CC Atlanta fringe station before WSB decided to carry her (effectively killing off any soft AC competition there). Could something like that happen here?

On a side note, maybe someone could add some digital radio to compensate for the lost genres (WGMY HD2 could be Magic 1071)...

The HD Radio Stations for Tallahassee are not up and running yet I dont know what the hold up that why we dont have our HD Radio Stations. Tampa,Gainesville,Jacksonville and the rest have thier HD Radio Station but Tallahassee hasnt yet.

Don't get too excited about HD radio. Pensacola has HD stations and they simply don't work in a moving vehicle. 98% of my radio listening happens in a moving car, so HD radio has turned out to be useless. The WORST spot I've found for HD reception in Pensacola is the Pensacola Bay Bridge... which makes no sense at all because you have a clear line of sight to the transmitters from the bridge.

At last report, there were only 2 Tallahassee stations even halfway set up for HD Radio - one of the FSU stations and 103.1 The Wolf, a country station. None of the CC or Cumulus stations.

I just don't see HD radio happening soon in Tallytown.

BTW, the new My 107.1 is looking for someone to host afternoons. It was just posted a few days ago.

Why don't you apply for it? If you are looking to come back to Florida, Tallahassee is a very nice academic community.
