WTMJ to end Badgers broadcasts

The Badgers have been on WTMJ for 86 years; however, for the past couple of decades, the station was merely an affiliate of Learfield's broadcasts. (WTMJ stopped being the flagship at the time because its renewal bid was filed late.) Now, management has decided to no longer carry the Badgers--partly because it looks like Learfield was pushing for full clearance. So, the question arises over who'll carry the games in Milwaukee (CC's WOKY appears to be the favorite)--and just how many other affiliates may be needed, in order to fill the signal gaps.

It's easily arguable that they've not been interested in the Badgers for a couple of years as most of their broadcasts get shoved to WAUK and WOKY for something else (usually more time-buys like Adam Bold). Glad they finally confirmed it, but not before they turned tuning into a Badger game into a dial hunt on many gamedays.
