WTMP- 96.1 off the air

I know that both the WTMP AM and WTMP AM have been in receivership since 2008 (along with the co-owned Jacksonville stations) . While in the eastern Hernando county and s.w. Sumter county area Saturday evening and Sunday morning through early Sunday afternoon, I noticed they were off the air; I wondering if they have gone dark or if it's a equipment problem that is being fixed?

I googled for news on WTMP FM and nothing to be found giving a clue either on the Google web or news feature.

Just spoke with a friend who works at the station and she said that the FM's tower was damaged in a storm and they engineers are working to restore the broadcast right now.

Thanks for the response; I'm glad to hear that WTMP FM is not going dark; I noticed that another station up that way 89.3 (a 4 or 5 thousand watt repeater for a Melbourne,FL station) was also off the air; could be storm damage as well.

WTMP AM is a heritage station in the Tampa area, with those call letters since the late 1950's (from what I've read) and they've not had a significant change in format since that time; a rarity for either AM or FM; same format (basically) and calls for over 50 years.
