WTMR Web-Radio

A few months ago, I discovered WTMR Web-Radio. What I liked about it was that it reminded me a lot of radio stations I worked at early in my career back in the 70's. They were often called "chicken rockers" which were neither AC nor MOR but someplace in the middle. So we'd play The Captain and Tenille (and think we were really rockin') while also playing Herb Alpert and the TJB, The Baja Marimba Band..You get the idea.
The station is run by Tommy Roberts, Jr. His father owned WTMR in Camden on 800. Nice little station.
Tommy was able to put his old WTMR Jingles and music mix on the Web-Radio station which was great fun to hear. I have been unable to log onto the station for the last few days. Does anyone know if Tommy shut it down or if they are having technical issues?
If you've never heard it, check it out (if it ever comes back.) Many of us have probably worked at such a station aty one time..at least if you were in the biz in the 60's and 70's.

Find it at wtmrwebradio.com

Looks like they're back on-line. Must have been a tech problems. By the lack of responses, I must be the only person listening to it.

Not anymore! ;D Thanks for bringing them to my attention!

Fabulous station right? I especially enjoy the day format and "broadcast" it around my house on a Part 15 fm transmitter, so I can enjoy anywhere in the house or yard. I haven't heard any advertising, so I don't know how Tommy funds it since I know these things can get expensive and that's why I stay out of it. (If anyone out there wants to advertise give Tommy a call and help him pay for this thing. It would be a crime to not have it.)

Never heard the "real" WTMR 800, but sounds like it was a nice sounding station if the web version is any indication. 5 Kw on 800..not too shabby.Nice thing about webcasting is it doesn't require much..but the streaming and Soundexchange fees will eat you alive( Maybe they should call it "ExtortionExchange)My admiration to all who can sustain such stations.
