WTN Temporary Lineup

WTN is shifting their schedule this week to accomodate for G.Gordon Liddy's vacation moving Phil V. to afternoons and airing Neil Boortz in the mid-morning slot.

I must admit, I like this lineup better than the normal lineup.
______________

I agree with Bob. They need Valentine in the afternoon.

Yes they do, and have. Could this timing be because of the anniversary of Phil's contract with WTN?

Of course, when Phil returned to 99.7, Sportsnight was still on in the afternoon slot. (Why the current incarnation of Sportsnight has commanded so much consideration around there, I've never figured out.) And a station of WTN's caliber doesn't usually take to delayed-broadcasts in afternoon drive. Couple all of this with the fact that Paul Harvey's noontime show will eat 15 minutes of Phil's time in the morning and this move looks even better.

Even more interesting is that Ramsey is on 12-4, picking up a canned hour at noon. Could this be the start of running Dave 12-3, with only two hours live, so that Phil could be on 3-7? Or maybe later they might run Bortz live 9-10:45, Paul Harvey at 10:45, followed by O'Reilly live 11-1? Or just how will they fit in Paul Harvey's "noon" news?
Edited by jetfli on 06/29/05 04:01 AM.

I am sure the powers that be will figure out the right times to air Mr. Harvey. It may involve moving Phil Valentine's time slot and that of some of the other hosts. If they decided to air an hour less of the Rev. Dave Ramsey, that'd be fine with me.

When is a local station gonna start running Clark Howard?

WGNS in Murfreesboro has been carrying Clark Howard for a while now (weekdays at noon). In addition, they switched to ABC news several months ago, along with Neal Boortz in the mid mornings, Paul Harvey during morning drive, middays and afternoon drive. Savage Nation completes the evening lineup along with George Noory/Coast to Coast overnight. 'GNS has a local sports talk program in the later afternoon, in addition to it's local fare during the morning and afternoon drive times. They've also carried Braves baseball for 24 years. WGNS is resuming it's 'flagship' status for MTSU sports starting in the fall.

Yeah, I know, WGNS doesn't get all to well into Nashville, but neither does WLAC into the 'Boro.
