WTNH DT and WCTX DT

Are WTNH-DT and WCTX-DT both operating at full power? Are they moving their transmitters to a different position on a tower? The reason I ask is because I was in Farmington over the weekend where I have a DTV converter box set up. I was always able to get a great signal from channels 8 and 59 in analog, but in digital neither channel even registers on my box. It is literally 0% signal from both of those channels. I even did a re-scan of my box yesterday and have a VHF and UHF antenna hooked up. I get all the Hartford channels just fine (at or close to 100%). What gives?

Same here in Newington. I waited until last night to rescan digital and am now getting both stations in the low 60's when they use to come in to the high 80's on my signal meter.

I can't get New Haven or Springfield stations anymore. In fact, the only stations I get are the Hartford stations now. Otherwise I'm fighting through flickering pixels.

But hey, digital television is "better" of course.

It's probably the weather conditions. I noticed a signifigant drop in the UHF signals from Boston last night as well.

I'm in Middletown and normally get both WGGB and WGBY without problems (occasional pixels on WGBY), however, I don't get enough of a signal from WWLP (only once in a while), but my setup is much stronger on UHF than it is on VHF.

I'm pretty darn close to New Haven and I don't get either WTNH or WCTX. I have NEVER gotten WCTX, and WTNH required some very fine adjustments to get, but since I get it on Dish and since WGGB comes in usable all the time I never fight with it. I might just give up on WTNH and try further adjustments to get WWLP instead.

Hey, let's do a first post-DTV day scan!

first let's start with analog, since I still get 3 stations

WFSB 3, yes, I still count it as they are still supposed to be broadcasting (10 days are not up yet!) But they seem to be off, 0 out of 10
- normally 8 out of 10
WHCT 38, about 7 out of 10 for signal
-this station is much stronger than it used to be a few months ago, very watchable, except that I don't know spanish
WUTH 47, about .5 out of 10, almost impossible to notice it there, much worse than previously.
WRNT 48, Slightly better than previously I'd say another 7 out of 10, I think I have it a 5 or 6 before, too bad they keep losing the RTN feed
WRDM 50, Much worse, they used to be the strongest out of the 3 on the WCCC site, now they are the weakest, 4 out of 10.
WDRM 51, there are times when I do get them, now is not one of them, and I can't even tell if there's a signal there 0 out of 10
WSHM 67, Haven't seen it in a while, I can almost tell there's a signal, but it could just be overload in the amps. (used to get WVIT on 15)

By digital position;

02 - There is something there, but I don't know what it is, I'm getting 40-49% and it looks like a digital white out on analog, wish I had a scope right now)
04 - Same thing!
06 - The Meter shows 49%, but it is just getting WESU
07, on analog there is alot of noise, but not a digital signal, it looks like some new kind of equipment set up just below the VHF Hi band and it's giving a signal of 49%
08 - (NOT WTNH) 39-41% also some kind of noise
09 - 27% also noise
10 - WTNH is giving me about 42-43%, but not decoding
11 - WWLP is 9% very typical
22 - WGBY is between 45-53% and decodes nicely, no pixel problem right now
26 - WHPX is VERY LOUD on the main channel, fix it please!, I'm getting 65% signal and 165% modulation (ok, not really, just seems like it)
31 - WTIC 91-94%
33 - WFSB 87-90%
35 - WVIT 86-88%
38 - WHCT Analog shows up at 49%
39 - WCTX 9%, no surprise there
45 - WEDH 89-91% (I note in the legal ID just now, still showing the analog/digital positions thing)
46 - WUVN 88-90%
48 - WRNT Analog shows up at 49%
50 - WRDM Analog shows up at 49%
55 - I'm getting something there 40%, don't know what (the new service to take this part of the spectrum is already up??)

That's it, no serious DX there, but I guess to put this back on track, no, I don't get New Haven, but it doesn't seem like it dropped off for me. I also am bothered that I have such a hard time getting them when I can get most of Springfield fine.

BTW: is anyone else as far away from Springfield as I am getting them? I haven't seen it and it seems so many much closer aren't getting them.

They were, but they were required to vacate that channel and did so last Friday shortly after noon. The FCC has closed all channels 52 and above except to LPTV, and they have to move soon too as the spectrum is being sold off.
