WTNT signal

Exactly how bad is the signal at night? How much of the DC city does it cover? Not sure I trust R-L.

Is it as good daytime as it looks? Even at 730, 8kW doesn't seem like a ton in a market that big, but I guess it would cover a lot. Not to Baltimore as TRN claims, though.

The day signal is excellent. 8kw is a lot of power when used at the lower end of the dial, especially non-directionally. It is quite listenable all over town, including Baltimore, Annapolis, Dulles, etc. Closer in, including anywhere inside or near the Capitol Beltway is is rock solid.

At night, it is a solid clear interference-free signal all the way to the end of the driveway of their transmitter site. It generally unlistenable anywhere else -- this is a daytimer with its current facilities. Even in downtown DC at night it is usually difficult or impossible to tell whether they are even on the air or not in the mishmash of distant signals.
