WTOC off the air?

As of yesterday afternoon 1360 WTOC (formerly WNNJ-AM) in Newton has been off the air.
Is this a technical problem or have they just not found a buyer? ]

As of this morning 8/6 they're still off.

The problem was the STL RF output was lost due to a blown RF module which I replaced today and returned us to the air. So to answer your question it was a technical problem.

I'm glad you got WTOC back on the air. I missed hearing it. I think Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel is a great on 1360. The sound quality with the reverb sounds great too! It's the best the station ever sounded! Keep up the good work! 8)

I'm curious where the transmitter is located? Is it still at the old WNNJ/WIXL building near Newton? That was the studio when I worked there at as high school kid in the early 70s. It was a wooden frame building that housed the studios, sales, and transmitters.

WNNJ was 1KW D back in 1972. Non Directional. The additional towers must have been added when they put it on at night.

The AM was a Collins transmitter. The FM was Harris or McMartin the typical station stuff of that period.
