So Gary Havens is gone and Greg Duncan is looking for a job.......
Perhaps Entercom will hire Greg to counter program against B. After all B has a nice piece of the pie and they don't have any direct challengers except WTPI. A blownup retooled WTPI has a beeter shot at winning that Oldies Scmoldies!

That would be very interesting. Greg Dunkin takes on B...the station that he started. Could make Indy radio even more interesting than it already is.

Interesting yes, but I doubt that he started it. He was probably just carrying out the plan hatched elsewhere.

Sorry to hear Havens is gone. I worked with him a couple years and he's one of the "good guys" in this icky business.<P ID="signature">______________

Agreed. Few PDs treat an airstaff with more respect and honesty.

I couldn't agree more. Gary is a very classy gentleman. I have never worked
for anyone that was more fair and understanding. He wasn't just a boss, he
was a friend. I will miss him.

Add me to the long list of Gary Havens admirers. He gave me a hand up when I was at my lowest point and always treated me well.

Same here. You can't find a better person to work for. It's really too bad how things turned out. Hopefully Gary will find a new radio home where he's truly appreciated by the owners/management.

Maybe Gary can find a situation where he can be owner/management. Nobody LOVES the mechanics of radio (on-air, production, setting up live broadcasts) more than Gary. I can see him buying into a small station somewhere, just so he could do the stuff he loves doing.

I'm not sure getting let go means owners/management doesn't appreciate you. It could simply mean...
a) a format change that you aren't suited for is coming down the pike
or
b) Your a great guy but the results you deliver are underwhelming

Bushala has been surprisingly quite on this thread...Bushbuddy we'd love to hear the gospel from you - your enlightened thoughts about the impending format change.

Tell us about about that short sales guy who runs around reading the Fish books - is he the new leader who will guide the ship? Is he even tall enough to look God-awful-ski at belt height or does he just follow the corporate chieftons around parroting them like Vic Olsen's bird?

My money is on Rock....
