WTRG (Oldies 100.7) occasional TOH ID

I figure this is really reaching but here goes. When I lived in Raleigh in the early 90's WTRG had a killer top of hour id that they ran occasionally. It went to the effect of "This is Oldies 100.7 / WTRG Rocky Mount/ Raleigh, Durham, broadcasting from the tallest tower in North Carolina, from the coast to the mountains ....." and so forth. It probably ran about 20 seconds or so and sounded just great (to me). A great voice and wonderful laser beds underneath it all.

I had it on a tape in the tape pile and when I went looking for that tape this past weekend to xfer it to MP3 I could not find it. ARGH!!!

Does anyone have a copy of that ID? We can discuss terms. :)

Thanks!

I believe the voice was Joe Kelly. Lasers?!? Really? Well, it was the early 90s, lol!

I was last in the business in 1978 and back then we just called 'em sound effects. (and all the music was on cart, very modern). Now I see the term lasers or swooshes. Whatever they are called, Oldies 100.7 put the effects to good use in that sweeper.

I remember that ID. I also miss the "PAMS" sound-alike jingles.

WTRG also had a sharp ID in its final days. I liked the Weather Intro with the jingle and jock sing at the end.

The TOH for the last 2 years WTRG was on the air used Brown Bag's "K-EARTH" package (no longer available for license), co-designed in 1998 by KRTH Creative Director Kevin Smith. It's the same template TOH ID that WTRG sister oldies WMJI/Cleveland uses.

Jingles were Tony Griffin Productions "Super Hits" pacage.

The sweeper went something like "Broadcasting live... From Raleigh's beautiful Smoketree Tower, Emitting a signal from the tallest radio tower in North Carolina, covering the Triangle, 27 counties, from the Triad to the beach, from Henderson to Rocky Mount, Southern Virginia, POWWWW!!!!!! AND... Uncle Zebs General Store in Lizard Lick...(or 6 other variations) This is WTRG... Oldies 100.7.

If THIS is what you are looking for... I have all of them.

Terms you say???

I don't know how this post ended up at the top of the pile again but if OldDude is reading this please shoot me an email if you still have that WTRG sweeper. [email protected] We can certainly discuss terms. :)
