WTRY going to 70s & 80s?

Yesterday there was a woman dj on for Chris Warren on saturday and after a song she said wtry your home for the greatest hits of the 70s and 80s and kept going and didn't laugh or say anything like a mistake or anything, so my question is, is this is a future plan for WTRY 98.3 to update themselves for oldies? If they did turn 70s & 80s i would not mind it as long as they play all the oldies from both those decades that CBSFM used to play while they were oldies and maybe mix some cuts from the 65-69 in it too.

More than likely she just mis-spoke and didn't realize it. Fill in people often work several different stations and positioning can get confusing. Also, TRY does hit the very early 80's once in a while and maybe that tripped her up. Personally, I didn't hear any reference to the 80's and I had them on all day. I noticed her because she sounded familiar and was alot more upbeat than the usually WTRY weekend fare which was fun.

Again, I didn't hear it, but I'm sure if it happened, it was in error.

Your probably right about that being an error. I agree she did sound more upbeat and better than the usual wtry weekend lineup, i would say they should hire her for working at wtry. they need more upbeat djs, and if they did hire her i would say take off the sherry van dyke since shes voicetracked and put this woman in that time slot.

Could that be the same Jackie Donovan of GY traffic?

Re: Who is it?

I know Jackie was doing some voicetracking for PYX to fill in...maybe TRY too. She is a lot of fun, but Traffic is her gig.

Re: Who is it?

She sounds too good for traffic but perfect as a dj, I wish the PD of WTRY would put her on permanent as a regular dj.
