WTRY & Magic

Ok, so did WTRY let Jamie Roberts go or did she take vacation and they have substituted the airtime with some god awful network driven show

What's up with Magic 590 still running Christmas music? Here is a golden opportunity for them to increase their numbers by going back to the locally based "oldies" type format they are doing and pull some of WTRY's numbers, while WTRY is running the out of town stuff. ABC...drop the Christmas music already. Christmas is over!!! This includes B95 who was stilll playing some Christmas music each hour. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! uggghh. :(

Well, it is "holiday break week" - you even acknowledge as much in the second part of your post... I would think Jamie is on a holiday break... I know with the current radio landscape, we immediately suspect they're gone if we no longer hear them, but in this instance, let's give it a week...

Now, as for your second point... it depends on exactly what "Christmas music" they're playing - I believe the only ones still legally allowed post-Christmas are "Sleigh Ride," "Winter Wonderland" and, of course, "Another Auld Lang Syne".

Jamie said on Saturday that she will be off all this week. Magic 590 is only playing a select few christmas songs still.

Capital area radio should get real interesting in 2012. Stay tuned.....

Just listened to `em for 20 min....

Santa Baby...... Ring Christmas Bells...... Little St. Nick....... Silver Bells...... Pretty Paper......

They did this last year too. They'll stop January 1st.

It always used to be this way. I remember as a kid WHSH (WISH) would run christmas music right up to New Year's Day. It's the season and why can't people enjoy it a little without our Christmas wings getting clipped. I like hearing a couple of christmas songs mixed in this week. I don't like hearing them the day after Halloween.
