TRI-STATE BROADCASTERS AC WTSA/BRATTLEBORO, and sister Sports WTSA-A, have been sold to a local couple, WILLIAM and KELLI CORBEIL. According to the ASSOCIATED PRESS, WILLIAM CORBEIL interned at the stations when he was a high school sophomore. The CORBEIL's intend to maintain the existing formats, and want the staff to remain on board. TRI-STATE BROADCASTERS, comprised of morning host JOHN CLARKE, his wife MICHELLE KILDUFF and his father in law AMBASSADOR NEY, have owned the stations since 1986.

That's usually the station I'll listen to (by default) when I'm in Brattleboro. WKVT-FM 92.7 sounds like a rather dull rock station and WKNE-FM 103.7 of Keene, NH has a crappy signal in Brattleboro's north end (at least with my Sony Walkman, DX/Local switch on "DX" as well). Getting back to WTSA-FM, who else does that station have besides Tim Johnston and John Ashley? ???

John Clarke has been doing mornings there for what seems like forever (he, his wife and father-in-law are the ones selling the stations). It has been said that he will stay on as morning host for the foreseeable future. Doug Brigham has been doing middays there for the past few years, he previously worked at WKVT. You mentioned Tim Johnson (news) and John Ashley (afternoons and his great oldies show Saturday mornings). The only other local offering is the long-running Coffee and Jazz on Sunday mornings with Bob Coffee. Otherwise they run Jones Hot AC off the bird. Small-town local radio at its best, IMO (when they are local anyway).

I was staying at my Grandparent's house in Putney on vacation (years ago; when I was a kid) and I had WTSA on. I was in bed just starting to dose off when I heard them announce that Bobby Fuller (of The Bobby Fuller Four) had just committed suicide. WOW!!
