WTSB AM-1090 finally sold!

WTBS-AM 1090 in Selma will soon be under new owners...
Mickey Lamm, the son of Carl Lamm who runs WMPM-AM 1270 in Smithfield,
is in the process of purchasing this station for $400,000.
He is currently the news director of WMPM.
The next question is, what format will it take on once the sale closes?
Since they have 9,000 watts during the day, it may be "News/Talk"

Wow, $400,000. WTSB alone cost Triangle Sports Broadcasters $1.5 million when they bought it in 2004. Triangle Sports would have to sell WDUR for $2.23 million (They paid Clear Channel $1.13 million for AM 1490 in 2005) just to break even, highly unlikely with that signal.

Wonder if the terms include the Raleigh studio equipment, or if some will remain to be sold when they find a buyer for WDUR.

So what's playing on WDUR, now that WTSB is being sold? That station has been a satellite for other stations for as far as I can remember. Maybe Capitol will pick it up as a satellite to WCMC-FM after the flip to sports... ?

A of a few hours ago (8/27, around 9 p.m.) WDUR was still spinning the same mix of music they've been airing for most of this year. My guess is, if Davidson Media doesn't buy it, probably a Spanish broadcaster or a ministry will end up with AM 1490.
