WTSR 91.3 - New Trenton Thunder Flagship

They fail to mention that those 1,500 watts are 36 feet above average terrain...

I love going to minor league baseball games. But minor league baseball is all about the ballpark - game day experience. All that "I don't care if I ever get back" stuff. I don't get why anybody would want to listen to games on the radio.

Out of market fans (they do exist - we would get calls at WRRC), people traveling, players relatives, etc all want to listen to the games.

I'm not much for sports on the radio myself, but hey, they gotta sell the ads somehow...

Only problem with that is it's a non-commercial station.

You can sell a ton of underwriting spots. Look up in Long Island with the Islanders being on a college station.

being on WTSR's signal is a godsend compared to WRRC's...when WRNB was running IBOC, you couldn't hear the games in the stadium parking lot !

You could hear it in the parking lot - it was inside the ballpark that was the issue!

Thats why WRRC & The Thunder installed that Part 15 FM transmitter inside the ballpark.

Fybush said this morning that Merrill Reese's WBCB in Levittown will pick up some Thunder game broadcasts. I wonder if the guys doing the Thunder games are having fantasies of ol' Merrill calling up after a game and saying, "I want you in the booth with me at the Linc."

Thunder had a commercial radio station that was AM (WIFI-AM) out of Burlington that is 5,000 watts but they chose not to go in after 2 years of doing it with WiFi!
