WTUS 102.7/103.7 Fairmont, Mannington

WTUS is now Country WGYE also known as "Froggy 102.7"...It is owned by the Burbach Empire...It is simulcast on 92.7 in Clarksburg as WGIE,which is the former WVHF...They still have the 103.7 Morgantown translator..They promote it as "Froggy on the 7's"....The studios for these stations as well as WOBG 105.7..and Clarksburg AM's 1340 and 1400 are in the old WTUS building on Locust Avenue in Fairmont...WTUS was never owned by the Fantasias, rather Al Sergi, who now owns the Summit Media Empire headquarted in Sutton.

Another Frog....oh well. I used to work there for a while, and I wonder what happened to some of those people. Mark Thompson, Chuck Rogan, Rick Starsick...there was also a really nice woman that worked there, too...I can't remember her name. Anybody know?

Mark Thompson is now a Truck Driver....Last I heard a few years back Chuck Rogan was working for the U.S. Postal Service..Don't know about Rick Starsick..Lady was probably Allison Brooks..She did mornings at WPDX for a few years but is now out of radio..I almost went to work part time for WTUS in 1996 but backed out..Mark Thompson and I worked together at WPDX in the late 1980's.

Thanks for the info, Don. The time I had at WTUS was a lot of fun. I think I remember Chuck talking about working for the postal service.

I also worked at a PA border station for a number of years (WANB). I'm sure a lot of things have changed in WV radio since '97.

I worked of the partners who owned WTUS. To former NJ State Police employees. On robbed the radio station from another.

Hiding in the hills of Sutton was a very good idea. Sleep well.
