WTVN shifts its staff

Matt McCoy has been named sports director at WTVN (610 AM).

"Matt has worked extremely hard and has played a vital role in building 610 WTVN’s sports department," said program director Bruce Collins.

McCoy replaces George Lehner, whose contract was not picked up after it ended July 1. Lehner had served 20 years as sports director at the news-talk station.

Also, former WSNY (94.7 FM) morning producer Merlin has joined WTVN as producer for Bob Conners’ morning show.

Merlin will replace Laura Smailes at the end of the month.

Also former Steve Cannon Producer B.J. Patton is now their Traffic Director. There's been a lot of movement over there!
 
I'm very happy to hear that Matt McCoy has been named Sports director at WTVN. He is a great guy and a very hard worker. It is a much deserved promotion.
 
Man, I remember working with Matt way back in the day at WLOH Lancaster. We're talking early to mid 90s. Congrats!
 
Congrats to Matt! He's a great guy and is really in his element doing the sports thing at 'TVN. It's a long way from those OSU tailgate parties at Damon's with me back in the "Wilder" days ;)
