WTXX-DT2 is now running "This TV"

Not sure when the network started, but I do know it was some time today as I know the DT2 was still the 480 of the main this morning.

They are showing the movie "Hair"

Anyone have a website on this one (ha! a pun!) I want to look at the schedule.

Not much of a schedule there. I'd DVR Mr. Ed and some of the movies, but I'd rather have RTN instead of this. Of course, I realize ThisTV is a Tribune network after all.

I have RTN, I'm in Middletown, I get it over regular analog on channel 48 from Hartford (transmitting from Avon over by WFSB, WCCC, WUVN, ect.) The call is WRNT (so close, but I don't think it was intended as they had those calls for years now)

This TV is a joint venture between MGM and Weigel Broadcasting.

Thanks for the clarification Trip. I typed it, deleted it after I realized it was wrong, and didn't double-check before hitting post.

That's a pretty weak schedule. Maybe it will appeal to the 50+ crowd.

agreed, I think RTN has a bigger library to choose from

You betcha...

21 Jump Street. Airwolf. Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The A-Team. Battlestar Galactica. Dragnet. Jack Benny Show. Knight Rider. Magnum P.I.. McHale's Navy. Quincy. The Rockford Files.

drooooooooool... This is like old-school TVLand/Nick@Nite, Spike/TNN, A&E, and Sci-Fi in one. Now if only WRNT could be added to local cable.

i read that rtn is actually a poor company and service was interupted a while back so they could negotioate a contract with the affiliates. wjar 10.2 down in southern ma plays rtn but whdh 7.2 plays this tv i like rtn much better this tv is on my cable lineup and all the movies are boring and plain old. rtn plays good old shows that i remember as a kid.

RTN was created by Equity Media, and it was Equity which found itself in financial trouble, and eventually, in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In order to raise cash, Equity sold RTN in June 2008 to Luken Communications, owned by one of Equity's principal shareholders. Luken continued to use Equity's facilities in Little Rock AR to distribute RTN's programming to its affiliates.

A contract dispute between Luken and Equity caused the interruption of service on January 4. Luken quickly restored national service from its facilities in Chattanooga TN, but stations that had individualized programming had to wait to get that restored. Additionally, Equity stations that carried RTN dropped it, and Luken vowed to find other stations to take their place.
