WUBE 1230 Aircheck posted on Reelradio

Any details on how they got there and who donated them. I'm not sure I want to pay 12 bucks just to hear them, even though I loved them.

That's $12 for a year unlimited access to over 2000 airchecks. I spend more that that a week on beer.

Unlike other aircheck sites, Reelradio is a 501(c)(3) on line museum preserving and in some cases painstakingly restoring airchecks. Plus, Reelradio is performance rights origination compliant so they are legally able to offer unscopped recording. So that $12 a year is one hell of a bargain and is tax deductable.

I don't believe they have any unscopped airchecks of Cincy radio, but here is what they have in the repository:

Jay Stone, WUBE Cincinnati OH. March 28, 1969
Brother Bill Gable, WLW Cincinnati OH 1997
Dusty Rhodes, WSAI Cincinnati OH August 21 1978
Tom Dooley WSAI Cincinnati 1967
Bwana Johnny, WSAI Cincinnati OH 1970
Rod Williams, WSAI Cincinnati and Vietnam
Q102 Cincinnati Hyde Park Honk Off, 1983
Mark Sebastian and Froggy, Q102 Cincinnati OH
Dusty Rhodes, WSAI Cincinnati OH June 27, 1966
Paul Purtan, WSAI Cincinnati OH 1964

For what it is worth, the WUBE aircheck was recorded a few days prior to the flip to country.

I think they also have Bobby Wayne when he was on SAI in 1966. At least they did when we could listen without a fee.

The link says Karen Vickers donated it and that the quality is poor. I guess if I had time to listen to air checks galore, the $12 would be a steal. But I've signed up for many things over the years, tossed them in the "to do" file & never got around to it. I'm afraid this would be another notch on that ever growing tree of good intentions.

Reelradio is hours and hours of entertainment, plus you're keeping this material available for old radio guys, students of the business, and historians. Actually wish I could contribute a little more.
