WUBG on 1570, but what other stations on 1570?

Anyone know who else is on 1570-AM besides WUBG "Big 105.3?" WUBG was blasting in this morning on the car stereo (2010 Honda Civic) at my listening location on Kensington Avenue in New Britain, Connecticut. However from time to time some other station would come in and obliterate WUBG's signal, but it wasn't clear enough to identify.

Also picked up Rumba 1430. It was mixing with another 1430. Maybe 1430 out of Newark, NJ? The show host was talking about the Alex Jones controversy.

You can go to radio-locator and do advanced search and enter freq
CFAV Laval QC oldies
WFLR Dundee NY country
WVTL Amsterdam NY country
WWCK Flint MI talk

In the 90s I did late Sun nights at what was then WNSH Beverly with studios in Hamilton.Would turn off transmitter and hear the distant stations come in over monitor.

Is 1570 WUBG Methuen for sale? A post on Remembering WMEX group on facebook has a clip of an ad from some kind of trade publication advertising a 44 kW AM with FM translator in Boston.
Radio-locator says WUBG is actually 44 kW (by day; a mighty 140 w by night)...and the FM translator, in Medford, is 250 w.

dont trust R-L for canadian listings.. 1570 Laval hasnt been CFAV in nearly 9 years.

Go to FCC.gov. Search for AM Query. Select by frequency (i.e. 1570). More information than you are ever going to need. Everything on 1570 :)

Typo in my post--radio-locator says WUBG is 45 kW day not 44.
In the early 90s when 1570 was WNSH (studios in Hamilton) I did a Sun night show and turned off the transmitter when done.Over the monitor speakers came distant stations, maybe Laval...

don't trust fcc.gov for Canadian listings either.. their info is out of date. use topazdesigns.com/ambc

Laval-oldies tends to be dominant at night in winter with a pretty weak signal.

At one time (probably back in the late '70s/early '80s) there were 3 AM stations on 1570 in MA:
WMLO Beverley (North Shore area)
WPEP Taunton (Southeren MA/Northern RI area)
WDEW Westfield (Western MA - Springfield area)

Don't know how many of these stations are still on today....

After college I started application work on a station in central NH on 1570.....Unfortunately it never got past the planning stage.....
Never did signal strength checks on any of the 3 MA outlets.....

Only WMLO, which is what WUBG Methuen is today.. the others are long gone

WNSH owner had WPEP and took it dark to help the then-Beverly licensed station.
It indeed was WMLO; later WBVD (for Beverly-Danvers; T shirts said 'BVD--First Thing You Put On in the Morning. As WNSH the studios varied from Pickering Wharf Salem to above a hardware warehouse in Hamilton to two different buildings at Endicott College in Beverly to owner Keating Wilcox's property.

Eventually it went to Costa-Eagle who got COL changed to Methuen with stick in Andover. Had WMVX calls for awhile, now at 1110 in Salem NH..MV as in Merrimack Valley?

WDEW Westfield moved to 640 when the FCC started opening up some of the clear channel frequencies. After all, it's not likely anyone in New England was trying to pull in KFI Los Angeles or CBN St. John's, Newfoundland, the Class A stations on 640. Today WDEW is 640 WNNZ, an NPR news-talk outlet. 50,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night.

By the way, a good source of info on which station is on which frequency is maintained by Wikipedia. Just type in "1570 AM" and see all the stations in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and other countries.

A good source of info on Canadian stations is FCCdata.org Despite its name, it's not part of the FCC.

Listening to a bit of WUBG 1570 in N Reading.Clear at 6:15 pm --Barry Scott Lost 45s (Drivin my Life Away, Dark Horse, Brazil etc). The FM 105.3 clear too.

IIRC.....WNNZ was started as "Oldies 640" by Curt and Ceil Hahn......Had a personal invite to visit, but never made it down...I kick myself for not making a greater effort....!!
Back "in the day".....I could pick them up east of Concord, NH --- with a McKay-Dymek AM-5 tuner and a 100' longwire antenna....NICE sound!
