WUBR

Is "test broadcasting" in the 910kc spot on the AM dial once held by WLCS and the religious station(calls escape me at the moment) that succeeded 'LCS.

Sounded like they were playing full CDs with Legal IDs mentioning their "test broadcasting" status. The guy's voice on the ID sounds like someone who is on a lot of NBC 33 voiceovers. Heard a bunch of Beatles, "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" by Meatloaf and the whole Dark Side of the Moon disc from the Floyd. Received them to where I could hear them well enough in Grand Coteau, until some eastern time zone AM flipped to night power.

I heard it in my truck yesterday on the causeway and in parts of Metairie and around City Park in New Orleans. Had a pretty good signal for a 1kw transmitter. Will try again in Galliano going to Houma today. The former calls were:
WLCS- with top 40 till 1987
WQXY- Easy listening till about 1988 (Switched with it's then sister station WQXY-FM 100.7
WTGE- I think it went standards in 1989(Not Shure)
WNDC- Religous till tis demise
WUBR- its present incarnation format still unknown
