Well folks, check out www.etruth.com Starting Monday, Smooth Jazz 106.3 retroverts back to 'The NEW Mix 106.3' with Tom Joyner again on the air followed by 'Urban Oldies,' format of the 70's, 80's, and 90's. (Elkhart Truth)
Two year format of Smooth Jazz is OLD. The people have spoken. Now, could this mean that Smooth Jazz could move to 1490/1620 AM? Time will tell. Also, what now happens to Gene Walker? Retirement? New Station?

Interesting. There's really been no urban station in South Bend since WUBU flipped the first time. Looks like FedMed will service the "youth" market with Power, and target the older audience with WUBU. I like the smooth jazz format, but the programming they were using via satellite lacked any sort of local flavor. If you listen to smooth jazz stations in Chicago (WNUA) or Cleveland (WNWV) you get a good idea of what a strong sounding smooth jazz station is like. UBU was a nice try, but it didn't work well enough for South Bend.

So who will "Mix" pull their listener base back from? WSMK? Sunny? Oldies perhaps?
