WUCF-TV

I have not had an opportunity to view the new WUCF-TV although I have looked over the station's webpage. In a compare and contrast, is the new WUCF-TV better, not as good or about the same as the previous PBS affiliate WMFE-TV? Opinions?

Out of the 100 thread views since July 17th, none of the 100 have viewed WUCF-TV? Or, instead, is it none of those who have watched WUCF-TV have an opinion of the new Central Florida PBS affiliate?

From the few times I've flipped thru the channel dial, it seems that as of now their just running the national PBS feed. No local programing as of yet. All local orientated programs are on their 68.2 & 68.3 sub channels. Although they say WUCF they are still WBCC during the legal id. I have an Aunt who misses the Saturday night Brit-coms WMFE used to show (even though it's mostly the same shows repeated every few months) and is hoping 68.1 will bring those back for that's the only PBS channel she could get at the place where she's living at.

Being an entirely new joint venture formed between Brevard Community College and the University of Central Florida with very little time to prepare, it will take time to plan and orchestrate local programming catering to Central Florida. One possible idea is to offer air time for the local programs once aired on WMFE-TV interspersed with PBS programming on WUCF-TV [WBCC]. Central Florida has lost two PBS affiliates recently, first with WMFE-TV being sold to religious network Daystar Television while WDSC-TV Daytona Beach, although remaining a part of Daytona State College, announced it was dropping PBS programming in favor of producing and airing all local programs.

I have to side with your Aunt regarding the Saturday night British comedies which are hilarious, especially "The Benny Hill Show", "Faulty Towers", "Keeping Up Appearances" and "Are You Being Served?"

@FrankF: The reason why it seems as if the same episodes of "Britcoms" are shown, it's because the season length of the average British series "season" is a whopping six episodes. Yep. "The Young Ones," one of my favorites, had only twelve episodes produced (that's two seasons).

I think I've heard that before. My Aunt got me into Keeping up Appearences (I believe I've seen all of them) & Are You Being Served (seen most of them). I did look foward each year to watching the Christmas episodes of those shows. I may have to find them on DVD this year.
