WUCS dumps NFL playoff game at halftime

WUCS is now doing ESPN Radio after carrying the first half of the Packers-49ers game. There was a period of dead air before the switch was made. What's the deal? Technical difficulties? Somebody told the station it didn't have the rights?

Must've been technical problems. They had several promos the last few days that they'd be carrying both games on Saturday.

And of course, it being a Saturday night, the station was on autopilot, so there was never an announcement for the local audience, just generic national gab from ESPN. I gave it half an hour to return to the game, then switched to WFAN. Not sure whether they ever got the feed back or not.

WPOP-AM 1410 of Hartford was airing the same feed of the games. It was actually about 4 or 5 seconds ahead of WUCS-FM.

Which makes the midgame switch of WUCS to ESPN talk even more puzzling. Aren't both stations in the same broom closet, I mean building?
