According to Radio and Records online, US99.5 PD Mike Peterson will leave the station to work for a family business in Oregon.

Thoughts? Replacement?

Odd really. PPM numbers are REALLY good for 'USN considering most people will tell you "country music doesn't work in cities this large." Top 3 25-54 is more than "just good." The bigger news is what's up at 'GN? More free falling. Looks like Randy is doing it again! The lessons learned from Clear Channel!! The listeners of Cincinnati keep saying they want him back in control of an operation there. They can have him.

Randy hasn't even been in the station yet except to use the bathroom. He's busy enough with the papers and TV stations and he hasn't spent much time on the TV stations. If and when he decides it's time to meddle, he will, but he has a lot of respect for Tom Langmyer.

Randy's history of fixing busted AM's is way beyond your appraisal. Rush Limbaugh would like to claim credit for bringing AM back. Where Rush is against a Randy station, he's second. For a while in Cincinnati, Rush was third to two Randy AMs and he was on the 1530 that blows in here every afternoon about 4:30, so you can't say it was a signal problem.

Most of what he is blamed for were good ideas taken to absurd extremes by the Mays brothers after they decided he was too smart for the room. We all see how they did without him. I think Clear Channel's stock was at about $95 a share when Randy found out he had the wrong last name. If the recent 2 year buyout failed, the stock would have been lucky to fetch $22.

No surprise that Michaels hold Langmyer in high regard, both are Buffalo guys, both worked at WGR Buffalo when Taft owned the station. Back in the day it was consistently in the Top 3 with a full service AC format in the face of stiff FM competition.
