WUVR's translator at 98.9

Passed through Upper Valley yesterday and noted WUVR 1490 was running Howie Carr and mentioning they were also on 98.9...Hmm? I tried it out and it did come in (I was just west of
the Conn. river on US-5 in Hartland VT...the signal, based in W. Lebanon NH, is apparently 250 w at 221 ft HAAT with the calls W255CF, I believe, acc to radio-locator).
What was interesting:

--WUVR's liners--NOT a legal ID-- said "WUVR 98.9 and 1490". The translator stressed first.
People paying more attention to FM dial...?
--WNTK website (WNTK/WUNR) doesn't even mention the 98.9

Not sure when W255CF went on (lic. granted last Dec.?) Good for people having trouble getting
the 1490, etc.
99.7 supposed to be running Howie but I was having trouble picking them up where I was.

In addition to the whole AM vs. FM thing, WUVR on 1490 at 640 watts has got to be signal-challenged. It's too bad they didn't take the old WDCR 1340 spot, but I guess there were complications. The only positive for this AM is their being near local talker WTSL 1400, but WTSL's website doesn't exactly look like they're going after a younger adult audience. It looks like both Lebanon talk stations are trying to get more FM presence... I see WTSL's site also mentioning 94.3, but Radio-Locator still shows 94.3 as a translator for a Hot AC there. I guess it's a work in progress.

Don't believe radio-locator. 94.3 has been a translator for 1400 WTSL for a couple years now.
