WVAS FM Montgomery sets DX record

WVAS 90.7 FM in Montgomery has set a long distance DX record. E skip
on the FM band has caused this station to be heard in Ireland thousands
of miles away. All I can say is wow!

I was able to pick up a few Boston area stations yesterday afternoon in Huntsville. While scanning the dial, I heard the Red Sox on two FM frequencies in the Madison Square Mall parking lot! ;D

OK, since we're discussing DX, who would have been playing Guns 'n' Roses on 88.1 in Alabaster this past Thursday I think?

I can sometimes get WMAW-Meridian, MS but this obviously wasn't them.

Some distant college station skipping in? Someone's MP3-to-FM transmitter? Mexico? Pirate? A pirate college station in Mexico with a MP3-to-FM transmitter, even? The mind boggles!

Every year I get a few of the "please sign my DX letter" from folks in the Northeast after they've caught a Big Dog jingle or ID.

Also, only at night...if you drive by the Union Springs exit (Hartsfield ATL Airport) hit scan and you will get 96.9 full stereo and RDBS.

:D
