We just returned from a Holden Beach vacation. While driving through Shallotte three years ago during our first visit, I saw the town had a very small AM religious station, discovering it operated at 1410 AM at 500 watts. It was on three years ago, but later on went dark. I was glad to see it's back on. I know there's somewhat of a history with it, explaining why it did go down for a qhile. I admit that I'm a sucker for very small AM stations. Looking at Shallotte, one would think it could support an FM, whether a translator or full power. It reminds me of cities near where I live that happen to have three FM's, including a translator. There seems to be a lot of businesses near Holden Beach/Shallotte that don't get promoted on air. Anyway, kudos to WVCB.
