I know the building that WVCP is in was partly leveled by the tornado on Friday. Anybody know the full extent of the damage to the studios?
______________

The actual studio is still intact with all of the windows busted open.

But you're right, the building is partly leveled.

I don't think WVCP will be on the air anytime soon.

How about the transmitter/antenna? I take it the new site is (was?) on campus?

I thought the transmitter site was on "Music Mountain" (remember
the old WFMG calls for 104.5 when they were playing big band?)
Seriously, I think the tx is up 109 on the ridge...with the ch 50 site.
______________

Nope, the tower up there came down a few years back & they moved. tiger.census.gov is down right now but the new site is a bit south & west of the Music Mountain site - I won't say I'm 100% certain it's on campus but it sure looks that way.

I'm afraid WFMG-104.5 predates my (late 1990) presence in the area. I did hear them in Wisconsin (?!) as WWKX back in the late 1970s. I suppose they were up there at the time.
