WVEA out.

Does anyone know what happened to WVEA-TV, because they are kicked out of the air OTA and from Bright House (soon to be Charter :))

Just a wild guess, but I'm wondering if WVEA is having some technical issues; right now I am not in the metro area and cannot check their OTA signal, but on Spectrum (formerly Brighthouse, the transition took place in May), on the TV, when I try to check out channel 15 (their channel assignment on Brighthouse/Spectrum) is has a message saying "Service Interruption), when I checkout out their TV app, I get the following message " SERVICE UNAVAILBLE

We're sorry but this channel is currently unavailable. We are working to restore service as soon as possible"....... Interesting since Charter sent out letters indicating that all their new operations they have acquired (Brighthouse, Time Warner etc) are to go under the brand name "Spectrum", but the message is "signed" Time Warner Cable.

WVEA is back OTA. Maybe maintenance? Back in the day (actually not that long ago), TV stations announced they would sign-off, before going off the air for maintenance. Why did WVEA go out without an announcement? TV stations traditionally do that, even 24/7 stations. If that's the case, they may have had unscheduled maintenance, now because stations don't sign-off for maintenance, although some, and only a few, like WPRI in Providence and WTKR in the Hampton Roads still do so.

WVEA-TV is down, again! I can't get it on both Spectrum (I still call it Bright House) and OTA, as it had before! I know this may be a crazy, but there has been small rumor in the area, but I don't believe it's true, because it just isn't and also, the reason for the rumor is "political" (and politics are not allowed here), so I'm not going into anymore detail what the rumor really was, just it was a small rumor.

Anyways, same station got hit by a outage again.

WVEA is back on Spectrum (don't know about the OTA feed); there is a crawler at the bottom on the screen during programming (not during commercials) advising Spectrum customers to call a toll free number (1-800-238-7065) if they don't want to lose WVEA. (My Spanish is not too good, so this translation may not be 100% accurate). Noticed it back on as of about 1030 this Saturday (the 28) morning.

I think that is nationwide for all Spectrum customers that affects the nationwide feed of Univision and UniMas (markets who don't have a local affilIiate) and the Univision and UniMas O&Os like KMEX in L.A.

I don't think it affects WVEA, as they are owned by Entravison, and Entravision is not in any disputes now (they barely have disputes). However, I don't know the situation for WFTT (UniMas), because in terms of ownership they are half and half owned (Entravision and a half-O&O by Univision)

UPDATE: They were pulled out of BHN, despite being owned by Entravision, and not an O&O. Non-O&Os are the "hostages" in this dispute with Bright House!

Per the FCC site, WFTT is owned by Univision. It is in an LMA and operated by Entravision.
