WVFJ pulls application to upgrade signal

I see the the 93.3 application filed recently was pulled by their owners last week. I do find on the FCC's FCC Query section that WVFJ has the C0 Allotment reserved for themselves. I would assume the application was only made to get the C0 allotment before losing the chance. I wonder how soon another application will be filed to try to use that allotment that will bring more signal improvement than the one filed a few weeks ago showed.

I wonder why they pulled it? You can sit on an application/permit for years before you actually have to spend a dime. Maybe someone else waived some $$$$ to get them to pull it?????

Not trying to start a rumor here, trying to clear one up.. I may have possibly missed something, but I was told they were up for sale? any truth to this? and if so, should we expect a format change with the fish being in the mix now?

I am pretty sure that there will be Christian music on 93.3 for a long time.

I really thought that with the Fish the advertisers would all leave J and eliminate a lot of the revenue. The fact that J is still a class C1 signal that blankets a big chunk of southwest metro down to Columbus they actually have a larger audience than the Atlanta ratings show. The Fish does by far reach more Atlanta arbitron listeners but 93.3 has enough to survive throughout their coverage area.

It's not up for sale. It will be a Christian station long after 104.7 has flipped to something else. J93.3 is owned by one of the top 5 largest private companies in Atlanta, and it only exists as a ministry. It isn't subject to alot of the pressures and that come along with publicly traded companies. They don't plan months ahead, they plan years ahead.
