When you're 'talking' about defining a market, WILK does indeed qualify.
1. Exclusive news/talk outlet in the market
2. While street reporters have been slashed, it is the only station in the market with dedicated 'news' staffers. This is not to demean Bud Brown in any way; but understandably, there is only so much news that you can gather from behind a desk.
3. Three live and local talk shows along with the heavy hitter of talk fame, Rush Limbaugh.
4. 12+ numbers as quoted on this very board (http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,117822.0.html):
WILK 6.6. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is higher than WEZX by 1.1.
Yet the station does not 'define' the market?
This argument holds water if the station that we're talking about is WHLM or WGMF (sorry Kevin and Ben). These stations are programmed well but lack the signal and City of License to be a major player in the market.
I'm sorry but your logic does not hold true. While you may not care for the format, the shows, or maybe even Kevin Lynn's voice, the station is very much a REAL radio station that defines Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
