...came across that info on radio locator.

The adjustment in power/tower height isn't really the issue. It's that they are moving a little over 3 miles further north.

This will get them a 60 dBu over the southern portion of Memphis and a City Grade (70 dBu) over Southaven (but not Olive Branch). It will help a bit -- but 95.3 will always have an impaired signal in Memphis.

Don't forget, they are about to get that AM on 830 and, I suspect, that BIG translator on 103.1. Combining all that, they begin to have a passable signal over Memphis. Or at least, that will be the argument.

Expect the 95.3 CP to be built pretty quickly. The tower already exists; there isn't much to do other than hang an antenna.

DE is right on the money. I have witnessed several class A "Move in"
attempts. These are usually marginally successful at best. I wish them luck...JBI

First Broadcasting the owners are well known for some huge moves in Texas. Buying 830 and the translator is far easier than the impossible feat of getting 95.3 into the city. WHAL, WTBG, and WKVF make it pretty much impossible for 95.3 to get much of any signal into the city. They moves they did around Dallas took years and involved a large number of stations.

EMF has sold some stations recently but I'm sure 94.9 is like gold to them now with a signal centered just a block away from Bellevue covering all the right places in town. I wonder if Anyone has made them an offer on 94.9.
