WVIP, on 93.5 FM, broadcasting from the Bronx, now sends out the same programming on HD1 and HD2. The latter has a delay of about a minute.
They used to transmit sister AM station WVOX on the HD3, and then switched it to the HD2. That made sense, as the signal of WVOX AM 1460 is rather weak. It was a change of pace to be able to listen to musical standards at night, using the HD2 to receive WVOX clearly.
As WVIP is virtually all brokered, perhaps their goal is to also eventually lease the time on the HD2 signal.
