Apparently Joanne Nesti will not be the only one leaving WVIT. My insider source says that two well known
anchors will be leaving soon as well. And Gerry Brooks is not one of them.

Huh????
Wow, that is the wildest specualtion I've ever heard!! :)
Maybe she's leaving town, or retiring.
That is, if she's leaving at all. Are there any sources for this information, or is it pure hearsay?

O, my mistake!
*open mouth, insert foot*

But, I still wonder whether Janet will go elsewhere or not?
I forgot about that $8.3 million. I'd be outta here, on my way to the Carribean!!

Another article in the Hartford Courant about Janet Peckinpaugh.
First Joanne, now Janet? Both retiring.
It won't be the same!

Janet Peckinpaugh's last newscast

I don't know if anyone saw, but tonight was Janet Peckinpaugh's last newscast at 5 o' clock. They did a similar tribute to her, like they did for JoAnne Nesti last week. So now, another veteran CT newscaster takes off.

It seems like it's a sinking ship at NBC with all the layoffs in New York City. I wonder if Nesti and Peckinpaugh really retired on their own, or were told by NBC that they were too expensive and had to go?

Wow, i second what the rest of you have said... Channel 30 is really going down the tubes! They were always my favorite station.

I wish they could bring back a few anchors of the past, I personally liked Ann Baldwin. She left for WTIC 1080... left WTIC 1080 6 1/2 years ago and is still in the Hartford area.

Check out Janet's bio on www.nbc30.com. Very moving clip as she was saying goodbye on her last broadcast. She got quite emotiona;, and the tribute they played gave a lot of insight into Janet, both on and off camera. She's a class act and WVIT won't be the same without her.
