WVMA-CD

Did WVMA-CD relocate again? I thought it was in Winchedon, but it seems to be in a different location according to the Rabbitears site:
WVMA-CD
It's been in the southwest corner of RI for a while.

What is new this week is WVCC-LD, from the Cabot St tower on RF 6, virtual 41, and owned by the same owner as WVMA-CD - Milachi Media / Jeffrey Winemiller, which also owns WWOO-LD

Right now WVCC-LD is still configuring one subchannel as NewsNet.

I’m not scanning in WVCC-LD at all here in Somerville, but my “Smart TV” died (very prematurely) and I’m now using an older HDTV that seems less sensitive. I’m not scanning in WCRN 31 or WLEK 22 on it, and they used to come in at least intermittently on the other set with the same antenna and position.

I’m currently getting WGBH 2, WHDT 3, WBZ 4, WCVB 5, WLNE 6, WHDH 7, WJAR 10, WBTS 15, WWOO 17, WFXZ 24, WFXT 25, WCEA 26, WUTF 27, WSBK 38, W26EU (//WYDN) 40, WGBX 44, WWJE 50, WLVI 56, WDPX 58, WNEU 60, WUNI 66, WBPX 68. (I know several are subchannels on the same signals).

I would not be surprised to see WVCC-LD and WWOO-LD eventually carrying the same 4 subchannels - with WVCC adding Movies!, Decades! and AntennaTV. If they do, they will probably cover much of the Boston market quite well. I am not getting WWOO here, however, even though the locator sites say I should.

What is interesting is that the B87FM pirate can still be received in this area (3 miles south of the Needham towers), even though 87.7 is within the bandwidth of RF ch 6.

WVCC still has work to do. They are having what appears to be problems with the satellite reception of NewsNet - a rhythmic freezing of the signal once a minute or so. It could be coming from something like WCVB's weather radar.
