Huntsville WVMB-LP files for license to cover

My understanding is that they turned in the old license in April and went off the air for a time while continuing streaming with the same program schedule and TOH IDs as though the station was still broadcasting.
Then in the most recent window for new LPFM licenses, they applied for and received in a new-and-improved-but-still-LPFM license on the same frequency with the same calls.
I'm not sure why this couldn't have been done as a modification to their old 2002 license, but that's what they did. Even if their new tower site was unavailable in 2002 when they first went on the air, I'm just not aware of another LPFM successfully doing this gambit as opposed to upgrading to a full-power license.
Even if their type of programming will never get a preset button on my radio, I've got to tip my cap to them for having the stones to pull this maneuver off.

Thanks for the info. I've got a dear friend who is supposed to be on there weekly, for some time now. Wonder if he knew about them being off the air, but still streaming or this new move? I looked at the application and can't find what the new power is supposed to be. Maybe I need to get more familiar with said applications LOL. Yeah, just checked his Program Log and he's still listed as on every Saturday at 5.

HMM, just checked TapinRadio and WVMB (as it used to be called on there) isn't on there anymore.

Romans 11:33-36 KJB: 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
