WVNJ

Very sad. All brokered, all the time.
Another one bites the dust.

Isn't this the station that complained about Jukebox radio taking away their listeners? I'm not saying that how Jukebox radio was broadcasting was legit, but I do see the irony here.

i liked jukebox radio and which it was still around to beat wvnj on the head ! you know this station carries that garbage all day and still no ratings. so wvnj must stop that garbage and go local talk like a better wctc or maybe play their music like wobm they do good. lets hope they go local somehow.

Fred,

For the record, "The Voice in the Morning" with Gary R'nel and Kathleen Maloney is a live and local talk show focusing on Northern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties, as well as New York City, Long Island, and Ct.
Gary & Kathleen debate the issues, discuss the news, and disagree on just about everything! We've had local Mayors, Congressmen, Senators and other elected officials on as guests...we've interviewed school board members, community leaders and activists on a variety of issues and the show has only been on the air for a little over a month! It's a darn good show...if you can't get the signal, listen online at www.wvnj.com. Maybe you could listen first before you slam something?

Yes, there is a lot of block programming after that. However, much of it is live and local with real calls from real local listeners who are glad to have an outlet for anwering their real questions and their real problems. And oh yeah, guess what? The station gets to make some money in the process. Wow! Sorry if that offends you.

Dave

hey dave

good job sticking up for wvnj, i always liked wvnj and hope it stays on a long time but how about another talk show like '' voice in the afternoon'' ?

reply back what you think and please lets have standards music on the weekands also email me st shorerules21@yahoo sometime.

First i like to say that while i miss the old music on wvnj. i emailed dave M, the station mananger and he said that it had to be done becuace the music was bringing in no money. but wvnj starting 1/7/08 is going local in the moring and afternoon. in the moring they are adding sam greenfield from wwrl, and the afternoon they are adding Dave Webb and Mark Mason. so while this isnt the best thing that could happen its a start for a struggling station. to answer the question about jukebox radio it was taken off by the FCC in 2002 becauce it was being broadcasted iegally through phoneline from ny.

Wrong.

There was an illegal business relationship between the primary station WJUX in Monticello and the translator in Fort Lee.
