WVNN's Frawley out

I just read on AllAccess that Randy Frawley was released due to budget cuts. Huh? What's going on in Huntsville? Is Cumulus that bad off? Anyone know the real story?

Too bad. Randy is a good radio guy had only been there a year trying to revive a station that badly needed leadership.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Cumulus-Clear Channel deal that happened a few months ago. Maybe their operating costs have increased due to the addition of a new signal and they aren't getting as much revenue as they expected. I would have thought that since WVNN started broadcasting on FM that they would have added listeners. And then you have 93.3 simulcasting on 94.1, which I don't think helps out the situation either.

C'mon, surely somebody knows something about what happened! ;)

Thanks for the kind works FM SALES. It's true budget cuts got me. I wasn't the only one either. Oddly enough the rating just came out and look good and I am looking for a job. So, if anyone knows of anything...........

Randy,
I hope they got you a good severance package. Will be praying for you to find something soon, you're too good of a programmer and too nice of a guy to be out of a job for long. Thanks for all of your advice as I was leaving Gadsden.

I also noticed that Matt Tidmore and Gary Darby are gone from Sports Radio 730 WUMP, which is also a Cumulus station in Huntsville. Their timeslot now has a syndicated program. I wonder if they were let go too.
