WVOX/Westchester's Webstream... Streaming WCBS!

I've discovered that 1460 WVOX has a webstream, so I felt inclined to tune in and see what "live and local" (or lack thereof) programming they had on...

I tuned in and heard Yankee baseball! I then waited until I heard the legal ID - it was WCBS 880. "On" 1460!

Even funnier, during the pause when I waited for that legal ID, I thought I heard a Mets game bleeding over from the Fan!

Listen for yourself... Is WVOX a daytimer? Do any other stations stream by their static radio signal as opposed to directly to Internet?

I am not a ardio expert, but I will play one on this board.
My guess is that they carry Yankee Games and the board Op just let WCBS feed go through. I have heard the same thing in Florida when a local station carried the yankees and I heard station ID and even one night the local florida station kept on WCBS through out the night. I figure the Board Op went out for a smake and locked himself out of the station!

What would the point of that be though? WCBS 880 broadcasts from High Island, which is right off the coast from Westchester County. WVOX wouldn't be filling in any gaps with the coverage.

WVOX is licensed to operate 24 hours with 500 watts during the daylight and a whopping 122 watts of power after dark. Undoubtedly, not heard by many outside the Queen City of the Sound. Its a cool little contemporary building, with the AM stick right behind it

No, WVOX does not carry Yankees baseball. WCBS is the flagship for the Bronx Bombers, you have get out to Bridgeport, Danbury, Newburgh and further.

WCBS and WFAN have their tower on City Island. WVOX isn't working with the latest up-to-date equipment. With 1460-AM being one of the more volatile sine curves, you start to get the idea of what is happening here.

IMO, given the content on the station, and even with the Bronx Bombers not playing the best baseball in the history of the team, it is a better alternative.
