WVRR: Current Status

I, too, would think that 101.9 would have a decent signal over Brattleboro, and it probably does. But I haven't been able to pick them up in Brattleboro at all...at least not in the downtown area. Maybe if my radio was a few hundred feet taller... :D

Kinda surprised at that. Since they (obviously) put a city-grade signal over the thriving metropolis of Westminster, I'd think Brat should be pretty good. Is there a hill or something that might cause a problem?

Haven't been able to pick up 101.9 in the vast metropolis of Goshen, nor in Newport or Claremont. But I wish them well. Should be a home run in Keene. Give a year and Keene Rock will be a huge hit - lightning in a bottle!

All they need to do now is in Oct - do a "smashing pumpkins" promo for the pumpkin festival.

The website is www.keenerocks.com

I have it on good authority that WKKN is not running at full power yet (legally) due to getting approval for the directional pattern or something. Apparently they are running max wattage for the currently non-directional pattern. However, I'm assured that Keene has a rock-solid signal.

Keep it tuned for better coverage whichever way the directional antenna is supposed to be pointing.

I'll be heading back to the kingdom all up I-91 from CT. I'll let you guys know where the coverage is if I am not sleeping on the Job
oz ;)

Outch! might as well say the White River-Lebenon market has been given to 99.3 and the Q
really Upset on the outcome of the new 101.9 signal-wise. Music Wise it kicks some ass ( where I could get it at least)
now I need to find a new #1 preset, 101.7 & 101.9 is pretty much static a lot of the way through central VT
Drove up trough vt Late Evening. couldn't even get 101.9 until Brattleburo then spotty until the Putney Border. Putney through Ascutney it Screams good then It dies a quick death past Ascutney. 101.9 kills 102.1 springfield MA where I used to get it Fringe pretty good. can't get it past Brat/Putney now! as for 101.7 Like I really need anymore VPR geez. Thats all you hear Up towards white River weakly now. 101.9 where 101.7 used to scream up towards thetford and as far as Wells River, 101.9 is now just WPOR country from portland Maine  I now dream of A LP on 101.7 at least in White River or see if they could get the LP 94.3 w232AP in White River.

I noticed today that the signal in Brattleboro is significantly better than it was a week ago. Still nothing to write home about in the downtown area, but in the outlying areas (West B.) it is no longer fighting with Cool 102 from the Cape on my car radio.

could be DX with the great weather were having... Now if i can just get my terk f-50 antenna to work again.. apparently I guess I am having a polorization issue? I could get it to work for a second but that was it. It would die again quickly when I tried playing with the signal... maybe I should listen nextime they say leave it horizontallly.... not vertically in the snow... ;)

*suggestion for moderator could we change the subject from WVRR to something like (WVRR 101.7 is now 101.9 WKKN) just a suggestion thanks :)

I was driving up I-91 last night I could get the signal now from Mass all the way almost to white River Jct exit 9 Clearly. it is inaudable in and out in White River JCt and now almost up to mile Marker 100 in Bradford fighting WPOR 101.9 all the way up there as well as fighting 102.1 a tiny bit.
can WKKN ask to upgrade the signal just a bit? I bet it would make the stretch to Bradford VT

hows the signal been recently for you guys?

Noticed they're running sweeps that say "Keene's only locally owned and operated radio station."

Guess Lebanon's close enough for local these days.
