WVUD Power Increase

An application has shown up for an increase in power for WVUD to something like 6kw directional. Also noted an application for Temple University for 99.9 in Newark with 10 watts Fill that dial up!

I wonder how much territory that will add to their coverage?

Temple adding another frequency in Delaware is disturbing. But it will bring classical music to Newark, which we have not had since WFLN died, except for an hour or two daily from WVUD.

I don't see the problem. Unfortunately, no one in Delaware is willing to put a Classical Music station on the air (even if they were, my understanding is that there aren't any FM frequencies available for Wilmington available at full power, so thankfully WRTI via Temple Univ is willing to do that via low powered translators, one at 107.7 near Marshallton and now apparently one in Newark. It is a shame that the 107.7 translator couldn't have more power so it would reach Newark/Bear eliminating the need for a second one at 99.9.

I think it's great that WVUD will increase it's power allowing them to better serve the entire county with their unique programming.
