WWAC WILD 102.7 FM RE-BRANDED AC 102.7 ANY THOUGHTS

WILD IS A BETTER NAME BUT LET'S HOPE THEY ADD MORE DANCE SONGS.
THEY STILL PLAY SOME DANCE SONGS BUT NOT ENOUGH.
INTERESTING HOW IS GOING TO UNFOLD.
ALL NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON.

Their new logo looks more suited for an Adult Contemporary station, than for a CHR ..
Just my 2 cents ..

Hearing promos for "On Air with Ryan Seacrest." Based on the logo, this could be something similar to an "Hot ac/CHR" like Sojo, 94.3 The Point, etc. However, the writing was on the wall for this to happen, and I said it earlier that I had a strong feeling Wild was going in another direction.

If only JVC was given a chance to continue programming Wild 102.7 this summer, things might have turned out much differently.

JVC couldn't program a proper iTunes playlist, let alone a real radio station. Party on Long Island is one of the most schitzo sounding stations I've ever heard. The "throwback weekends" turn the station into a bad sounding WALK...

The further JVC stays from NJ, the better

I admit I don't like the Throwback Weekend but JVC must be doing something right since Party FM is the longest running commercial dance station.

Looks like we have Z88.9 on the dial for your dance fix, and (not to get a cheap pop out of it) the only dance station on the Jersey Shore, Party 732.

wwac ac 102.7 is a dance friendly more than any station here in south jersey they are adding top 40 remix to the playlist but no new dance. I hope in the coming months they will adjust the playlist and put more dance so they can sound diffrent than other stations. But I am still keeping wwac on my dial they sound a little different than others. I'm glad they did't completely change format they soud similar like it was with jvc/atlantic. Speaking of Z88.9 fm their signal doesn't make it in the Atlantic city area or even Absecon, Pleasantvile, Northfield and all that area.

This likely happened because Clear Channel owns the "Wild" name. Honestly, I was surprised when I heard that this station was calling itself "Wild" in the first place. In Philadelphia, Beasley Broadcast Group was forced to change the name of their Rhythmic CHR from "Wild" to "Wired" when CC threatened them with legal action. Just because there's different branding, that doesn't mean there's going to be a signficantly different sound for AC 102.7. I don't know about the addition of Ryan Seacrest to the station's programming ... that was a questionable move on their part.

CC owns wild name I remember that wild 96.5 in philly changed their name to wired back 2003. But why did clear channel allow jvc/atlantic to name wwac wild 102.7? My guess would be that station is in the small market and there is no direct competion with cc because cc don't own any station in south jersey and reason 2 maybe jvc must be partners with cc while longport media is not. Or jvc/atlantic was paying cc for the name.

JVC didn't know their ass from a hole the ground. They are out of there and that's not bad thing. Smart, respected people are behind this now. Anticipate good things. It won't be "fixed by 5" but it will get fixed. Ask anyone, it's already a lot better.

Z889 goes all the way to the last toll booth on the expressway. Atlantic City's high school station blocks us out. However you can hear us on the Garden State going north from there .

Clear Channel doesn't have a presence in the Atlantic City market. But now that 102.7 wants Ryan Seacrest, maybe one of the conditions was to change the name.

Ryan Seacrest is on wayv 95.1 fm and now is going to be on wwac ac 102.7 fm? wwac 102.7 shoud put Rick Dees and be different. wwac fm needs to play more dance to differentiate itself from 99.3, 95.1, 104.9 otherwise I don't see their ratings getting much higher. I'm glad that they don't play rock so they can easly adjust their playlist in future.

It definitely is interesting that they have Seacrest on middays. Seacrest's On-Air show isn't on WAYV, just AT40 but normally the stations that run On-Air run AT40. They probably didn't go with Rick Dees because from what I understand, isn't he only on Cumulus stations? This is a great market. It seems as if AC is positioning itself between both KISS and WAYV. KISS plays hardly any mainstream CHR hits and has become more and more big on the rhythmic singles. WAYV is a mainstream CHR. SoJo is more Adult CHR, being closer to Hot AC. It seems like AC is a rhythmic-leaning CHR. Basically, an upbeat WAYV... nothing slow, no rock. Here they are playing "All Of Today's Hottest Hits" at 9pm:

Bad Meets Evil/Bruno Mars - Lighters
The Band Perry - If I Die Young (Dance Mix)
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass (Dance Mix)
Pitbull/Ne-Yo/Afrojack/Nayer - Give Me Everything
Dev/Flo Rida - In The Dark
Lady Gaga - Poker Face
Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On
Gym Class Heroes/Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts
STOPSET
Maroon 5/Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger
David Guetta/Usher - Without You
Kelly Rowland/Lil Wayne - Motivation (Dance Mix)
Rihanna - S&M (Dance Mix)
LMFAO - Sexy As I Know It
Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks
Usher - More
B.O.B./Bruno Mars - Nothin On You

Definitely has a dance feel to it. Good station.

Okay so I gave it another listen, very similar to how the old 99.3 was now. Just wish Ryan Seacreat wasn't subscribed :-[

I think "was" is the proper term now ;). My Country is holding its own, but it & WRCN sound horrible fed by those Barix boxes. I couldn't listen for more than five minutes.
