WWAV at reduced power?

The station seems to be having transmitter problems. Anyone know what's going on?
All I can hear is static now (though the computer doesn't help, either)

yeah, I've been trying to listen to it for the past few days. The other day it was coming in like it normally does, and the morning jock said something about the signal sucking when he woke up, and the engineers were 'working on it'.
 
I've got a better question, what happened to the music on WWAV? I just noticed the change yesterday.

I heard they have gone jockless and are going with the BOB/JACK format....but will still call themselves..."THE WAVE"

lots of shacking up over there...should be interesting!
 
any damn station stupid enough to still play Betty Davis Eyes deserves what ratings it doesn't get.
maybe this garbage will underperform 98.1....good grief, how much worse operators can Qantum
be? are they broke yet?
 
I thought WWAV was doing well and WMXZ was their "problem" station. Wouldn't this new Jack format be a better fit for the AC leaning WMXZ rather than the old Classic Rock/Classic Hits/AAA hybrid Wave?

If they had flipped WMXZ to Jack they could have tried to steer Mix's audience to WFFY.
By flipping WWAV, Qantum's sending the audience out of the cluster to Star's KROCK and Cumulus' 99 Rock.

This is the best thing that could have happened for Star, unless Cumulus flips 99 Rock to Classical.

Set me strait here.
 
Rob, its a wonder that clock radio of yours can pick up anything? 1067 MAX still comin in loud and clear? Dothan rocks, always like to get 97.5 WABB outa Mobile too...........
 
and yes, i did notice the change.

their slogan claims they are anti corporate radio.
i wonder if this means that Dan Collons (sp?) is out of a job?

Rob, on your BIG FAT salary, you can afford two of each of these tinker toys. Then you can pick up all the Hot Rockin, Flamethrowin stations from that redneck state of Alabama.

Im pretty certain Dan Collins is not out of a job...as he is still the PD of WWAV

Some of you need the "jump to conclusions" mat from Office space...hehe.

No really...I am glad so many people dug the Wave Hybrid that was around for so long...and held its own for the most part...The "we play everything" wave is a lot of fun though...give it a shot.

and don't be picking on clock radios, too! I had one that had the tuner that picked up stations from 40-50 miles loud and clear!

now, everything is just crap.

i would like to find a GE superradio but I don't think those are in production.

as for Dan Collins, he has a hell of a voice, I wish I sounded like him! If he's out of a job, I wish him all the luck.

and what I make is nobody's concern but mine.
