WWAV Wave 102.1

Does anyone else notice that the left channel has been actiing up on WWAV? Last night it was really bad and it was right channel only.

Rob

Well, i don't live in the Fort Walton Beach area, but i can still get the station in over here in Mexico Beach really good and your right. I can only hear sound coming out the right speaker of my stereo. I can hear some sound in the left speaker, but i have to put my ear up to the speaker to hear the music. I have never heard of a station have this kinda problem.

The audio is fixed, now. I wonder who screwed it up? Such a professional radio station, too. I really miss living in Cleveland. Mainly their radio was "FUN" to listen to. 98.5 WGCL (now a classic rock station) played great disco music and had "DANCIN DANNY RITE (who is now..I think the guy hosting DANNY RITE ALL NIGHT)

Of course, we played pool and our atari in our basement, too. I'm dating myself, am I?
WMMS was a trip, too..."THE BUZZARD" now last I heard it's just like listening to TK 101.5 in Pensacola (something tells me that used to be a True Kountry format)

Rob

I don't think TK-101 has ever been country. In the early 70's they were R&B WBOP, simulcasting daytimer WBOP-AM. Then in the late 70's WBOP-AM changed frequencies to 1230 and added nighttime coverage. They flipped WBOP-FM to Acid Rock as WTKX, TK-101. In the 80's they added a sister station with the same format in Biloxi, TK-102. Through the late 80's and early 90's they were AOR. Around 1995 they merged their rock format with Alternative WOWW New Rock 1-zero-7 and became the Active Rock station they are today.

Then what does TK stand for? True Kicks? At least KICKS 104 is decent here I enjoy the mix there. Too bad they don't have HD 1 and HD 2.

But then again, that would sound like crap.

Rob

why the fixation on TK being "True Kountry"?
never happened.

TK has been some flavor of rock ever since they adopted the calls. Maybe the "TK" doesn't stand for anything... but it does sound cool when you hear pink flamingos saying "eee eee tee kay tee kay".

There are way too many mushrooms growing around here.
