WWBA Changes?

With Bill O'Reilly leaving radio, WWBA will be losing 2 hours of daytime programming. Any chnace that they'd shuffle the lineup and go live and local in afternoon drive with Dan York and shift Laura Ingraham live to mornings? Both of the other Genesis talk stations, WIXC in Titusville and WAMT in Orlando both now air Ingraham live.

I'd imagine a station would put a syndicated show like Laura's in that slot, or move Ramsey to 12-2 and put Laura in 2-4.

I think stations are scared to program anything local against the heavyweight Limbo.

I think a good local host could go up against "that metrosexual" so full of himself in the afternoons.

The No. 1 talker in Kansas City, KMBZ, when learning that O'Reilly was leaving, expanded the station's 4-7 p.m. local p.m. drive show into the 2-4 spot formerly held by O'Reilly.

The competing talk station, 710-KCMO, runs a much lower-rated Hannity.

Previously, KCMO had a strong local host but weak Cumulus owners didn't care and wanted the national Hannity, thus handing the p.m. drive hours to rival KMBC.

Guess running Hannity isn't always such a great idea.

Hannity's lead-ins are Dave Ramsey and Lura Ingraham on KCMO.

The live shows on KMBZ follow Beck and Limbaugh.

Limbaugh is the best lead in all of radio...but in looking at the numbers in KC Ramsey has been the #1 show on KCMO for the past year. Hannity had a better election book but other than that Hannity has not been able to match Ramsey's numbers in KC.

Dan York is getting some traction in the market. Slowly, yes, but the momentum is growing. With his new website www.DanYorkOnline.com, he should be able to connect even more with his listeners.

Will he go head-to-head with Rush? Tough call. It's really hard to imagine anyone who can do that.

I'd love to see it happen. Dan is a nice young man and working hard to make a mark. He's got the signal and if he's given the time, who knows?

Dan has improved and is sounding great.
I usually have his show on in the morning, while I'm working at my desk. I like to keep up with what's going on locally, as I'm not going to get such information after 9 a.m. on 970 and not at all during the week and most of the weekend on 860 which is like automated radio.

I'm not always paying 100% attention to Dan's show, but I heard his show Monday, when he started broadcasting live from the State Fair.

His opening "welcome" to the listeners was bright and engaging to the listener. I was struck by how good he sounds on the air. The show has a good focus on local Tampa and Florida topics, he has good guests on, and puts forth his political views where appropriate as well (ala comments on Obama's constant bad-mouthing the economy and saying how the world will end if his precious "stimulus (pork)" bill doesn't pass ).
He's really done a good job there.
