WWCD CD102.5 Fundraiser

While the LMA is not up yet I get the strong feeling the current owners of 102.5 really want to sell it -- Thus CD102.5's crowdfunding to try and raise the cash to make an effort to purchase the signal... I wonder if Salem is "knocking" at the owners doors again (We know that this frequency almost ended up in Salem's hands after the move in from Zanesville).

It looks like CD1025 is just about at the half way mark in their crowd funding extravaganza and so far they have raised 111,463.00 in 28 days thats roughly 11% of the goal.

what happens if they don't make the full million? What happens if they don't make it half way ?

Will some of the artists that have benefited from airplay on CD 101/102.5 over the years step in with some noticeable donations?

Anything is possible - I am all about the little guy however I wonder if they bit off more than they could chew taking on a lease for 102.5 FM. Plus their shun of modern day technology (web streaming) which they shutdown years ago when Sound Exchange demanded royalties from net casters -- seems like small moves made over the years is shooting them in the foot. Looks to be an uphill battle for them.

Well now the crowd funding is over and they managed 20% of their goal. 200,393 raised in two months. Far below the goal of 1,000,000 to renegotiate the lease.

Yes the opened a bar in the mean time, i think actually its a good idea, the money the bar makes can be used to fund operations. and that way the big room can contribute to the bottom line when it normally would have been empty.

I think Randy has done an amazing job trying to keep the wheels on the bus from flying off.

Good Luck CD1025!
