WWDP 46 and WNEU 60

I'm surprise NBC didn't put Telemundo on Channel 46 instead of Channel 60. Why did NBC pick WNEU for Telemundo affiliated instead of WWDP channel 46? WWDP transmitter is closer to Boston than WNEU which is a rimshot station in New Hamsphire.

They actually did used to have Telemundo on 46 and Shop NBC on 60. They probably put Telemundo on 60 because of the high Spanish population in the Merrimack valley where 60 has a good signal.

Shoot, they could have it both ways if they'd use the sub-channels. Shop NBC (a/k/a Peacocks R Us) doesn't need full bandwidth 1080. ¿Qué piensa NBC?

NBC actually owns WNEU channel 60. IIRC the owner of channel 46 is Bud Paxson's son. That's why Telemundo is on the New Hampshire station. Boston is covered by WTMU-LP a low-powered station owned by ZGB, who runs 60 under an LMA. WTMU is currently off the air pending their final digital assignment from the FCC.
