WWDP-TV, (analog 46) signed off at noon

At exactly 12:00 pm today (noon), the analog side of WWDP shutdown for good. Thanks to WWDP's CE (Davor Haler) I had the distinct honor of shutting down the analog WWDP/46 transmitter for the last time, myself. Ironically, I turned off the Channel 46 (then WHRC-TV) back in 1989 when the station went silent, when they ran out of money and generator fuel. Back then, that shutdown was involuntary. This time, it was planned! Now WWDP is now all digital. It was great to be the one to make the switch, some 20 years later! Thanks to Davor for letting me pull the switch for the last time. All the best for WWDP-DT Channel 10! 73!

Congrats Peter! It must have been quite a moment, particularly considering that you were there last time too. Who knows, by 2012 that could still end up becoming the next NBC affiliate in Boston.

Thank you! It was a lot of fun being there from the beginning until to the end (BOTH times)! I'm sure WWDP will do just fine. And you're right, who knows? Maybe WWDP just might be the next NBC affiliate come renewal time in '12! We'll see. I think I always consider WWDP to be special place for me. I miss the old place. 73.
